After an adventurous departure from Malindi we had a great time in Masai Mara. Our ticketed flight from Malindi to the Mara didn't actually exist. After several hours of sitting around a very tiny airport, they decided to charter a private 11 passenger plane for us since we had paid tickets and their next flight was not until the following day. What an expereince.
We had 2 days of R&R to help process our experiences plus we got some really up close time with some amazing animals. We flew back to Nairobi and had lunch. Now we are relaxing for a few hours before going to the airport. The Messners and Skons begin thier journey home, departing Nairobi at 10 pm then a few hour layover in Amsterdam then non-stop to LAX, getting home tomorrow evening. The Mootes and I depart at 10:15 for Kigali, Rwanda where we will be met by friends in the PEACE office and begin our meetings there tomorrow afternoon.

We are praying for your visit in Rwanda. That God would open the doors to allow you to enter into a new experience. For an opportunity to grow in the ways that God wants to "stretch" you into the mold He has planned for this leg of your missionary work. We are anxiously awaiting the new stories, the new connections, and hearing about the new ways that God has used all of you on this trip.

Again I cant be discharged unless you are here. A person named Cash Carlos is Social Services here. He will work with us in planning the discharge. I know you will be here as quickly as possible but how long does it take to airline tickets. Remember I cant live alone. It will take a few days to figure something out.

ReplyDeleteThank you for all your hard work mentally, physically & spiritually in working as a team to present recovery & be ambassadors of Jesus. I am excited to see the faces of Linda & CJ and Kelly & Mike soon, and very soon hear some of the awesome things God has done during this trip. I say some because there's probably too many to recount!
It makes me think of the end of the Book of John, where John says:
And I suppose that if all the other things Jesus did were written down, the whole world could not contain these books!
Wow! So, we just got a fraction of the stories. I'm sure we'll just get a bit of your stories too, but it still be amazing to hear.
May God give Jana, Teri & Paul a double portion of rest as you all transition to a different country & culture.
May he build up and encourage you in Spirit as you continue to wear & use all the Armor of God. May He prepare the hearts & minds & spirits of the those that you will meeting in Rwanda.
