Day 2 - Woooooowwww

Tuesday is normally a pretty reserved day and people are still unsure of this program called Celebrate Recovery. This is not a "normal" Tuesday. Wooooowwww. They get it. They are very open to what CR has to offer. Close to 100 people are here and we expected about 80. God brought just the right people.

They loved watching the new video of Kenyans talking about their healing through CR. They were blown away by Richard's testimony, especially considering the way they view ex-prisoners. It really opened their eyes and challenged their thinking. John's testimony was a real wake up call for them too. Both testimonies demonstrated that strong men have big tears.

The worship and prayer walking demonstrates the sweetness of God's presence. He is obviously here. Before we came we prayed that we would bring the the spark of a wildfire that will spread across this country. Today a pastor told us that we were the tip of the flame and that CR would be a fire across the country. God is good.

The prayers are working, keep them coming. Pray for the people as they continue digging deep in their step studies and begin their inventories tomorrow. Please pray for the fire to build and build until it seems out of control as it sweeps across Kenya, East Africa and the continent. Asante sana Bwana!!

  1. Oh my ~ I've got the chills just reading this wonderful news! How totally awesome! I don't know why, but I have tears of joy for all of you! Your hearts must be overflowing with such joy ~ the joy we can only receive from God!

May the fire take over the continent and continue to burn into the surronding continents! Richard, I am so very proud of you and know that you are doing an excellent job at delivering the hope and love of God, as all of you are!

Thank God for our past so that we can share His love with the future generations!

I am still in awe of God's amazing grace given unto everyone in attendance and the four of you.

Your worship and prayer walk bring this verse to me:

"The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results." James 5:16

"I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them." Mark 11:24

"Consider it pure joy whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." James 1:2-4

Sandy from our Emmanuel CR has attempted to blog several times and is unable. She sends her love and prayers to all of you!

Megan sent me this: Ugh...I have tried over and over again to post a comment and it won't allow me even though we have it through Yahoo.
Give our love to them and let them know we are praying for them and so excited to see how the Lord is answering prayers in amazing ways, more than we could ever comprehend!!!
    Love YOU!
    Megan

Know that many are continuing to pray for you!

    My Love and Prayers...

  2. Ok you all ... I am at my desk, at work, reading your blog on day 2 with so many tears in my eyes I can't seem to finish reading it all. WOW,"tip of the flame" that says a lot.

People in general and African's in specific are so hungry for the Good News and the process of healing that comes with it. Celebrate Recovery is one of those processes. What we all need are examples to follow, that would be the four of you on this trip. Your testimonies are so powerful because the Holy Spirit is using them and therefore he is using YOU. GO MUPPETS GO! You are God's Fantastic Four. I will continue to pray for all of you and the conference attendees because the spiritual battle will continue to rage. Be calm, be brave, be open, be honest and most of all be loving. God is using all of you. I am so proud of you all.

  3. Amen to Valerie and Paul's comments. My heart is overflowing. Surprised? Not at all. God is good. Keep fanning those flames.

Joe Mazzei sends his greeting: God Bless
"...Give yourselves to God... surrender your whole being to him to be used for righteous purposes." Romans 6:13 He's having trouble posting, too.

My Dad is reading the blog and is very excited to hear of your adventures.

Colossians 1:28-29 We proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ. To this end I labor, struggling with all his energy, which so powerfully works in me.

It is so evident that all of you are working powerfully. Imagine all we will meet in heaven, made perfect in Christ, because of your obedience and faith. Keep teaching and encouraging, and fanning those flames.

I can imagine you are on a spiritual high this morning. Enjoy it, bask in the joy that comes from doing what He has prepared for you to do. As you get ready for DAY 3, put on your armor and take good care of each other.

I, too, am so proud of you. Thanks so much for being faithful in posting so I can share in your incredible adventure.

    Praying for you!
